Join Our Team – Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC

Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our Roanoke Rapids Mill team is seeking experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to help maintain and repair state-of-the-art paperboard manufacturing equipment.

Pay Range: $31.19 – $41.56 per hour (based on education and experience)

What You Need

to Succeed

  • ✓Minimum age: 18
  • ✓High School Diploma or GED required
  • ✓Two-year technical degree, registered apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training
  • ✓3+ years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
  • ✓Multi-skilled maintenance background (mechanical and electrical)
  • ✓Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, hydraulics, and lubrication
  • ✓Welding experience (stick, MIG, TIG)
  • ✓Machine shop skills (lathes, boring, balancing, CNC)
  • ✓Ability to work weekends/holidays and in varying conditions (heat, noise, indoor/outdoor)

What You’ll Do

  • •Work alongside experienced mentors to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • •Support continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • •Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for unplanned shutdowns.
  • •Maintain and troubleshoot advanced control systems (DCS, PLC).
  • •Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for process control systems.
  • •Complete work orders, documentation, and change control procedures accurately.
  • •Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.

  • •Valve and gasket replacement, pump repair/repacking, welding (basic), forklift operation, pipe and tubing installation, cylinder and motor repair, and maintenance of mechanical drive systems.
