Manufacturing Engineer

Viavi Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality product output for our optical and photonics components.

• ◆Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling for optical component production.
• ◆Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• ◆Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and test procedures.
• ◆Lead and participate in troubleshooting activities for manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• ◆Collaborate with R&D, Design Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and smooth transitions from development to production.
• ◆Perform statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis to monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• ◆Evaluate and qualify new materials and components for manufacturing applications.
• ◆Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
• ◆Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.

• ✓Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• ✓3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in an optical, photonics, or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• ✓Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• ✓Experience with process development, equipment selection, and tooling design.
• ✓Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
• ✓Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• ✓Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• ✓Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
