Job Summary
Supervise manufacturing team members across multiple shifts, ensuring production demands are met while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. Direct, train, and evaluate associates; conduct shift meetings for safety and production items; and assign personnel to extrusion lines or production areas. Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, lean manufacturing, and conversion cost reduction; troubleshoot machine metrics and changeovers; and oversee operator logs, PM audits, and corrective actions. Interview candidates for manufacturing positions and recommend hires. Control materials to eliminate waste and respond to short-notice production or shipping needs. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Management, or Engineering required with three years of supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- ✓• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Management, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ✓• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- ✓• Previous experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
- ✓• Highly developed oral and written communication skills, combined with the ability to educate and train non-degreed operators and technicians in a production environment
- ✓• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor and train associates on a regular basis
- ✓• mathematical and mechanical skills required
- ✓• Proficient in use of calipers and other measuring devices
- ✓• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
Qualifications
- ✓• A highly skilled and motivated individual proficient in all areas of extrusion operation preferred
- ✓• 5S principles, Lean background (Six Sigma certification a plus)
- ✓• Knowledge of PVC resin/compound blending preferred
- ✓• Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
